The Hut Group to Power Forbidden Planet’s Software Store
he Hut Group will launch a white label store for Forbidden Planet International (FPI), adding 100ks of entertainment software SKUs to FPI’s existing merchandise store at www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk.
“The addition of entertainment software is the perfect way to extend the reach of Forbidden Planet’s existing large range of merchandise and collectables in graphic novels and comics to action figures and clothing & apparel”, says Colin Campbell, FPI’s commercial manger.
“Now we can offer our customers a full experience in any franchise; imagine you’re a die-hard fan of Marvel, you can now visit our store a purchase, the hard to find collectable comic, a t-shirt and now with The Hut Group’s white label the Blu-ray boxset”, he continues.
www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk receives relatively modest volumes of traffic compared to other entertainment retail sites on the web; nevertheless its visitors and customers generate much higher average order values, in many cases over £200 per order. This is because they are ‘hard core’ fans and collectors of numerous entertainment franchises, purchasing limited edition and hard to find merchandise to satisfy their hobby.
